When it comes to food, Filipino cuisine will never disappoint you. With the country’s influences coming from our rich history there’s no question why our foods are unique! We are always IN when it comes to food. We will never say NO if someone offered us something to eat. Every holiday, food is always on the table. We have varieties and wide selection of famous Filipino dishes and here are my top 5 favorites.
CHICKEN ADOBO

This is by far one of the famous dish in the country. Everyone loves chicken adobo. “Adobo” is the process of cooking the chicken. It means “marinade”. It’s a marinated chicken in a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, onion and pepper. Some people add potatoes, some don’t. After the you mix all the ingredients, you just cook in medium heat for 30 minutes and then it’s ready! Grab a bowl of rice and enjoy your meal!
LECHON MANOK

This is my favorite food of all time! There are so many ways to roast a chicken but in a Filipino way, it is being cook over a fire. It gives you that juicy, tender and well done chicken stuffed with lemongrass to make it smell good and tempting. It usually marinated for 3-5 hours before you cook it to enhance the taste of the meat.
SINIGANG

Sinigang is a stew of fish, prawns, pork or beef soured by fruits like tamarind or tomatoes. Personally aside from fish I don’t eat any kind of seafood and I don’t eat pork as well. So the only sinigang I’ve tasted was a milk fish (Bangus). This dish often accompanied with vegetables like kangkong and/or string beans this stew is eaten with rice. Yummy!
PINAKBET

BALUT

I salute all the people even foreigners who ate this food. Balut is a developing duck embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell. It originated from and is commonly sold as street food in the Philippines. Often served with beer.
